Lori De La Cruz receives Jim Dalton Award
The recipient of this award is looked upon as someone who contributes to NTCRA with unselfishness and always has the NTCRA's best interest at the forefront of their actions. Lori De La Cruz, principal of Blue Marble Media, was the recipient of the 2006 award. De La Cruz shared her talent for graphic design with the NTCRA through publishing a wonderful electronic newsletter, sending out electronic fliers about all the NTCRA programs to our mailing lists and creating other public relations materials that helped NTCRA grow their image in the region.
Jim Dalton was the first President of the Denton County Corporate Recycling Council. He started the DCCRC and was instrumental in the council’s success. He involved the group in the Recyclers' Golf Tournament and held consistent council meetings. He also traveled to all the Texas Corporate Recycling Council meetings all while running his mailing business. Jim died suddenly but left behind a legacy of volunteerism that is remembered with the award that is named for him.
Christopher Day receives Volunteer of the Year Award
Volunteer of the Year is an award that is given to the board member who has given a great deal of time and effort to NTCRA during the year. This person has performed actions that enhance NTCRA members experiences during the year. Chistopher Day, City of Plano, was the recipient of the 2006 Volunteer of the Year Award. Day took on the role of programs chair this year as a new member and Board of Director. He had little knowledge of our program format but rolled up his sleeves and created a year of great programs for our membership. |
