I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Fran Witte, Solid Waste Programs and Marketing Supervisor with the City of Irving. I have been with the City of Irving, working in the solid waste industry – specifically in the field of diversion through recycling and composting – for almost 16 years.

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I have accepted the role of President for the North Texas Corporate Recycling Association. I have been a member of this association for well over ten years and have come to know many, many people within the environmental industry through networking opportunities that have been offered by the NTCRA.

This is a very exciting time for us with the NTCRA, as we begin a year with a new look, new programs, and new projects. If you have been a member of the NTCRA you will notice a significant change to our web site, with a number of added features including an interactive events calendar, a press room and a "News to Use" blog. 

As we launch our new web site, we are expanding our resources and reaching further into the business community across the region to engage individuals to examine ways to improve the condition of our environment. 

NTCRA’s mission is to promote recycling and the use of recycled goods to area businesses through Leadership, Advocacy, and Education. To help accomplish this mission in 2007, we will be offering workshops throughout the year, beginning with a workshop focusing on the many facets of Business Recycling.

I invite each of you to join us March 15 at Willhoite’s in Grapevine from 5–7 p.m. for the first of several Membership Mixers – to get acquainted with the NTCRA and network with people from a variety of businesses and organizations (see events for more information).

I also encourage you to visit the NTCRA’s web site often to stay abreast of the latest environmental issues as well as NTCRA’s upcoming events and opportunities.
